Five race maiden for Andrew Balding, who has made the frame everytime, including the latest, when second at Chepstow (1m 4f, good), missing out by a neck to Knightswood. The extension to 1m 6f this afternoon looks ideal and on handicapping debut has strong claims overall, to finally grab that maiden victory.

3:00pm – GET AHEAD (each-way)
Clive Cox filly, who won on debut last year in a Class 4 contest at Ascot, before stepping up to Group 2 level and placing an impressive sixth of twenty-one in the Queen Mary Stakes in June of last year. Has generally improved this term, with third places in Listed contests at York (5f, good) and Bath (5f, good to soft) and makes handicap bow this afternoon. May need a career best to take the spoils, but in with a chance of featuring.
5:20pm – Al AMEEN (each-way)
George Boughey’s charge was a winner on New Year’s Day at Southwell (5f, a/w), when a shorthead clear of Dirty Martini. He followed that with successive seconds at Class 4 level and after a brief downward spell of form, bounced back last time out at Newbury (7f, good), when a neck behind winner, Bell Shot in latest. Comes in 1lb higher and is a runner with solid each-way claims.
