Places available per race are subject to change, if fields reduce in size

Race 1 (1:15pm) SEBASTOPOL

This Tom Lacey runner was the height on consistency last year, which included an amazing run of seven successive second placed finishes. However, after failing to finish in two starts, he bounced back with a victory at Kempton (2m, good), when beating Golden Boy Grey, who has since won, by 6.5 lengths to stop his “bridesmaid status. Visor is retained here and even with the 8lbs rise, he looks the class act here.

Race 2 (1:50pm) SOUNDS RUSSIAN

Ruth Jefferson’s charge comes in looking for a four-timer, having sealed the hat-trick at Kelso (2m 7f, heavy) last time out, beating  Niceandeasy by 22 lengths in a three runner contest. Rise of 5lbs is clearly seen as needed by the handicapper, but there does look to be more to come here and he can push favourite, Dusart all the way.

Race 3 (2:25pm) WEST CORK

Three wins in eight, including the last of those at Cheltenham (2m, good) back in November, when 0.75 lengths ahead of Adagio in the Greatwood Hurdle. A decent run in the Betfair Trophy at Ascot, was followed by a creditable run in the County Hurdle, when fourth in that Festival contest, 5.25 lengths adrift of winner State Man. Dan Skelton’s runner rises just 1lb for this race and is surely on the shortlist for the spoils.

Race 4 (3:00pm) MINELLA DRAMA

Five wins and four seconds in twelve rules starts and picked up a win back in January, at Haydock (2m 4f, soft) in a Grade 2 contest, beating Hardy Du Seuil by 9.5 lengths. He struggled in his latest at Kempton, when fourth of five in the Pendil Novices Chase, weakening on the run-in, but deserves another chance based on earlier form and could well bounce back in style for Donald McCain

Race 5 (3:35pm) MAJOR DUNDEE

Strong form so far this season, with a pair of victories at Fakenham (2m 5f, good) and Bangor (3m, soft), before returning from a three month break and just missing out on a hat-trick at Newbury (2m 7f, soft) four weeks ago, when Fuji Flight beat him by 1.25 lengths. Alan King’s yard is in good form of late and he looks suited to this extended Scottish Grand National trip, with places definitely in the works at very least.

Race 6 (4:10pm) BASS ROCK

Twice winner last Autumn, including a Class 3 contest at Carlisle (2m 4f, soft) back in October. A creditable third in a Grade 3 at Haydock last November, was followed by a below par run, back at Carlisle, in December, when fifth of ten over  3m 1f, with that trip looking a little too far. Reverts back to 2m 5f here and will be looking to retain the title, having won this race last year.
