2:45pm Limerick (5 Places) INTERVENTION – 10/1.
Has not provided the greatest form in seven career starts so far, but he did bag a second at Curragh (1m, good) last month in a promising run. He followed on with a ninth at Gowran Park last time out, when conditions didn’t look ideal and although similar ground is expected, the five places on offer for this race, make them an attractive each-way bet.
3:50pm Limerick (5 Places) HAPPY COMPANY – 16/1
Some strong performances during the Summer, with a couple of places at Ballinrobe and Leopardstown (both 1m 4f, good) followed by a victory at Leopardstown last month, over the same 1m 4f and good conditions, beating L’Un Deux Trois by a neck. Finished last but two in latest at Navan (1m 6f, yielding), but conditions and the extra trip were arguably unhelpful. If conditions dry out further, they will be in the mix. Solid price for each-way backing.
4:05pm Sandown (4 Places) ALFRED BOUCHER – *10/1**
Picked up a treble last Summer, including a Class 4 at Salisbury (1m, soft), but has failed to find success since, albeit with solid performances overall. Finished fourth on latest at Goodwood, when 4.75 lengths adrift of winner Muraad. He kept on well that day, which suggests that the extension to 1m 2f will suit. Hector Crouch rides for the first time this afternoon and a return to Class 4 level since that win may just see a return to top form.
