1:15pm Uttoxeter (5 Places) FOR LUCK – 18/1
Unplaced in five hurdles starts so far, but looked to be finally improving, when fifth at Fontwell, over 2m 3f and on good ground a fortnight ago. Wore cheek-pieces for the first time that run too, so it will be interesting to see if he can back that form up. Solid price at 18’s and well worth the each-way backing with five places on offer.
2:00pm Bath (4 Places) OUR MAN IN HAVANA – 7/1
Connections had a frustrating time of things earlier this year, with a run of successive second places, including when losing by 1.75 lengths at Windsor (6f, good) having held the lead. However the luck finally turned when taking the spoils at Chepstow (6f, good), beating Outer Space by a shorthead. Comes in off the back of a seventh at Wolves, although a minor break may help here. Needs to find a bit more amongst this field but can go close.
6:00pm Hexham (4 Places) DEE STAR – *12/1**
Has maintained strong form in the last couple of runs, since returning from a three month break, finishing second both times at Cartmel. Firstly, when 0.75 lengths behind Stop The World (3m 1f, good to soft) four weeks ago and most recently, when 1.25 lengths behind Elmono over 3m 1f, soft. Lightly raced in general and runs off the same mark as last time. Every chance of getting involved, if form continues.
