Form has flagged since a second and third in opening couple of bumper races, finishing in excess of 30 lengths adrift of the winner in the last three starts, including when seventh at Ludlow in latest. Needs a massive improvement from added cheekpieces to win this contest, but may be worth a small place wager, if a smidgen of earlier promise returns.

4:55pm Thurles (5 Places) DAMUT – 17/2
In good form since returning from a year off and clearing the rust, with a fifth here back in November. Has since placed second at Limerick (2m 1f, heavy) and then improved again to take the spoils at Clonmel (2m, heavy), beating Carnet De Stage by half a length. Comes into this hurdle contest some 13lbs lower than his chase mark and could feature among the leaders , if can continue the recent spell of form.

7:30pm Southwell (4 Places) INEXPLICABLE – 12/1
Shown plenty of improvement since a green run on debut, with a third at Wolverhampton (7f, a/w) and then a second of three at Southwell in latest, when 3.25 lengths behind 2/9 favourite, Craved. Makes handicap debut this evening and could go close, assuming he can handle the new trip, with places beckoning.
