Six wins in forty starts, with the most recent of those sealing a double back in August, at Southwell (1m 7f, good), when 1.5 lengths clear of Leroy Leroy. Form since has taken a dip, with fourth and fifth placed finishes since, while a return from a four month break last month, saw them place sixth at Kempton (1m 7f. a/w). Likely to need a career best performance to take the spoils, with each-way backing the safer option
4:20pm Newcastle (4 Places) SCULLYS FORGE – 12/1
Only three starts so far and had a couple of difficult runs in the first two races, finishing eighth in both. However he found some notable improvement, when finishing third at Kelso in the last start. Problem is, he has not run since December 2019. A fair bit to prove, after 459 days away, but still poses an interesting selection, with places potential.
7:40pm Wolverhampton (4 Places) FOR PEAT’S SAKE – 11/2
Little to write home about in opening seven starts, but followed a second in his penultimate run at Lingfield (5f, a/w), with a victory at Newcastle (5f, a/w) a fortnight ago, beating Marta Boy by a length, when wearing first time cheekpieces (retained). A penalty, an extra furlong and better opposition raise the stakes here, but he should be in the mix once again.
