Impressed when exceeding his 40/1 odds, finishing second in a maiden at Leicester back in December. Picked up a sixth place on handicap debut at Taunton in January, looking decent, if unspectacular. Drops 2lbs today and if continues the improvements, can bag a place this afternoon.

3:50pm Thurles (5 Places) TURPIN TALE – 12/1
Unplaced in six attempts over hurdles, with the best of those a fifth placed finish at Cork back in November on last run. Arguably could have done with reappearing sooner, off the back of the outing, but it remains to be seen if he can improve further. Solid each-way claims.

4:20pm Southwell (3 Places) HARRY HURRICANE – 9/1
Picked up a couple of wins at the end of the Summer (both at WIndsor), but has struggled since with fourth and ninth places. Has been away since November, so comes back fresh, but jockey George Rooke has won three of the last five runs for this yard, so gets a nod here.
