Since a debut sixth at Market Rasen on the end of the last year, David Jeffrey’s runner has been in consistent form, with a win and three seconds in five starts, including a win over 2m here at Cheltenham, when a 33/1 shot last month.in a novices handicap. Rises 4lbs in what is a tougher contest, but capable of acquitting themselves well here. Worthy of interest with the five places on offer.
2:10pm Punchestown (5 Places) MARINO MARVEL – 18/1
A thirty eight race maiden, who has eleven places to his name, including the last of those at Ballinrobe (2m 1f, yielding) in June. Has since gone off the boil, placing 0856 in the last four starts, but capable of more. Interestingly entered into a 1m 2f flat contest last time out, nine days ago at Dundalk, which just may sharpen him up for this contest. Once again, solid price for the five places on offer.
2:45pm Punchestown (5 Places) ABOVE THE CITY – 16/1
Only win in fourteen career starts, came at Ballinrobe (2m 1f, good) back in July of 2019, with a mixed bag of results since then. However some promise of consistency has been shown in the last two races, with a second at Navan (2m, soft to heavy) last month, followed by a fourth over the same C&D (soft), nineteen days ago. Unproven on this extended trip, but conditions likely to suit, with Eoin Walsh’s 5lb claim also a benefit too. Good price and potential for a big run this afternoon
