He finished 2 lengths behind Dashel Drasher on latest at Ascot (2m 5f, heavy) in December. Returns to hurdling here, while the extended 3m looks very much in his favour. Should be challenging in this contest.

Jerrysback is the next runner here, with three victories in ten career starts, although the last of those came at Bangor back in December of 2018. Has picked up consecutive third places recently, finishing 3 lengths back to Regal Encore at this venue in December (2m 7f, heavy), before doing so again, over 2m 5 here last month. Comes in 1lbs lower than the December race and looks to have strong chances in this contest.

Next up is Lord Du Mesnil, who sealed a treble back in December 2019, when winning a Class 2 over C&D, but has not been able to score in five runs since, with a couple of poor runs in recent starts, with the latest of ninth at Chepstow in the Welsh Grand National. Needs to get back to best to have a chance here, but with several experts fancying his chances, respect should be granted.

The final selection is Oneupmanship, who has improved to place on four occasions in six career starts, with the latest of those, a second over C&D last month, when half a length adrift of Sizing Sam, while race favourite, Take Your Time finished 5 lengths behind. Up 5lbs today, but progressive sort who should love the ground.
