The first of the day’s quartet is MARSHAL DAN, who has three wins in the last six starts, including on his penultimate run, over C&D (7f, soft), when 1.5 lengths clear of Three Saints Bay. Seemed to struggle in latest outing on the all-weather at Newcastle in December, placing fourth and 4.5 lengths adrift, but a return to turf, should see a return to more familiar performances. Runs well fresh and looks to be the main threat to favourite, Stone Solidier.
3:00pm Musselburgh
JABBAROCKIE is up next, with seven career wins and the last of those back in June at Newmarket (5f, good). Has picked up a couple of places since, but had dropped off towards the end of last season, with a fifth at Haydock (5f, soft) in September. Comes in 1lb lower than that last win and is well drawn to be in with a big shout in a competitive contest.

Next up is COLONIAL DREAMS, who has four wins and five places in eighteen starts. Has been lightly races since a win at Sandown (2m 3f, good), two years ago, when a length clear of Wait For Me. Had struggled for results in three of the runs after that win, but looked back on form, last time out, with a 33/1 third at Newbury (3m, good), some 7.25 lengths adrift of the winner. Looks to have more to offer over this extended trip and should be in the mix for the spoils.
3:35pm Musselburgh
The final selection is NATE THE GREAT, who had failed to add to his two wins, in the previous ten starts, before stepping up and taking the spoils last time out, at Wolverhampton (2m, a/w), beating Who Dares Wins by a neck, with William Carver onboard. A 3lbs rise looks about right, especially with his solid turf form and he can go very close here, with Carver once again claiming 5lbs today.
