The first of the day’s quartet is SILKEN MOONLIGHT, who has one career win in eighteen starts, but that came three runs ago at Carlisle (2m 1f, soft) in March, when 3.5 lengths clear of Sawpit Senna. Followed that up with a second over today’s C&D, before struggling to deal with the 2m 4f trip at Ayr last time out. Reverts back to a more favourable trip and expected to be heavily involved this afternoon
2:45pm Beverley
EAST STREET REVUE’s last of seven career wins, came back in August of last year over C&D (5f, soft), when beating Van Gerwen by a neck. Has since struggled to get near that sort of form, since rising in level, with two runs this season, seeing them places sixth and fifteenth at Ripon and Thirsk respectively, although this was similar to a couple of years ago, when picking up a win, after a slow start to the season. Handicapped well to be competitive here and could go close.
6:30pm Ayr
Next up is CORNDAVON LAD, who grabbed a maiden win at the sixteenth attempt, when winning over C&D a fortnight ago, beating Ayr Poet by a head at a career low mark. Up 5lbs today, but the second and third have since won, boosting that form. Very capable of making it a double this afternoon on that form.
7:05pm Ayr
The final selection is CABALLERO, who has two victories, but is without a win in nine starts. Had struggled to really get involved since the last of those, with a couple of fourth places to note, but a second in latest over C&D (good to firm) on seasonal return, when half a length behind Midnite Bride, offers encouragement. Comes in 18lbs lower than when last winning and this is a weaker race too. Every chance, as long as the ground doesn’t soften any more.
