Tends to only do enough, with all wins coming by a length or less, but always looks to have plenty in reserve. Has won twice on good ground and won’t have much issue if conditions soften, with the extended 1m 4f trip today, the only minor concern. Narrow favourite, ahead of My Frankel.

GULLIVER has eight wins and thirteen places in fifty-seven career starts for this busy 7-yo, with the last of those victories coming over C&D (6f, soft) back in October. Has not been able to show that from on the all-weather and a return to turf should see a resurgence form today, especially having won three of the four runs over C&D so far. 2lbs lower than his last win and should surely feature among the leading runners.

Next up is NORTHERN EXPRESS, who won on debut at Beverley (7f, soft) last August and followed with a creditable second at Ayr a month later. Returned to action last month, with a third at Beverley (7f, good to firm), which puts him in the mix, while a lack of exposure so far, offers further hope of progression.
