It’s been nineteen races since their last victory, but Grant Tuer’s runner has placed in nine of those, so can feel a little hard done by, that he hasn’t got more wins under his belt. Had two seconds last month, here at Beverley (1m 4f, good to firm), when 0.75 lengths behind Calculus and over 1m 2f, at Newcastle, when 1.75 lengths behind, Just Hiss. Decent fourth at Musselburgh and goes in as favourite, ahead of Temper Trap.

Latest of three career wins, came at Musselburgh (5f, good), when a neck clear of Stronsay, back in April. Form had dipped slightly, before a fourth at Ripon (5f, good) and second at Hamilton (5f, good to firm) last month, finishing just half a length adrift in the latter contest. The fifth last time out (also at Hamilton) saw them stumble early on, which arguably cost them a result. Very much, one of three with genuine chances here.
5:10pm – SELFISH BRIAN
Plenty of improvement since returning from a 228 day break at Ripon (1m, good) in May, with a second over the same C&D the following month, before winning at Leicester (1m, good to soft) last time out, beating Damascus Finish by 2.5 lengths ten days ago. Bred to appreciate this extended trip and is expected to battle Shimmering Sands and Make A Prophet for the win.
