Betfair Steeple Chase
The feature race on Friday is the Betfair Steeple Chase, with this Grade 3 contest attracting ten entries at the time of writing. The 3m 2f trip will be testing with recent inclement weather, but it’s Enrilo who goes in as favourite for the contest, with Paul Nichoills’s charge looking to bounce back from the fall last time out at Newbury and grab an eighth career victory, adding to his bet365 Gold Cup win at Sandown back in April.
Hurricane Harvey, Commodore and Mister Fogpatches are all poised to be the main contenders looking to usurp the favourite, while former Cotswold Chase winner, Santini will be looking to role back the years and get involved in what should be a fascinating contest. Friday’s big race is ably supported by the Glenfarclas Crystal Cup, a Class 2 cross country race over 3m 6f.

The Unibet International Hurdle
The main event on Saturday is the International Hurdle, run over 2m, with this Grade 2 contest featuring eight entries as of publication of this article. Tom Symonds’ charge, Song For Someone returns to defend the title he won last year, when pipping Silver Streak to victory, by a nose in an enthralling race.
Alan King’s Sceau Royal, who placed fourth that time, will be looking for a better result, having won two of three runs so far this season whilst behind those, recent winner here Guard Your Dreams and Irish raider Ballyadam both have excellent chances of gatecrashing the party.
Among the supporting races on Saturday, we have two more Graded races, including the December Gold Cup, which looks to be one of the more open contests across the meeting, while the Albert Bartlett Novices Hurdle looks a straight fight between Blazing Khal and Geliono Bello.
