Race 1 (12:30pm) HARDKORE
Cokoriko gelding, out of Kario De Sormain and half brother to three winners, including useful hurdlers in Enee and Falafel, who was a winner on their chasing debut back in March 2020. Dam was a winner over both hurdles and fences up to 2m 6f, with victories over in France and this Dan Skelton runner looks an interesting proposition on hurdles debut, with the pedigree behind him and should feature at the business end of the race.
Race 2 (1:00pm) EARL OF WISDOM
Currently a four race maiden, but Colin Tizzard’s 6-yo showed significant improvement back in February, when fourth of fourteen at Wincanton (1m 7f, heavy) as a 50/1 shot, finishing 7.5 lengths adrift of the winner. Returns to his first action since a wind operation, for this handicap debut and the extended 2m 3f here look ideal. Brendan Powell onboard is another big plus here.
Race 3 (1:30pm) FRISCO BAY
Strong performer, with four places in ten starts, before finally grabbing a maiden victory at Uttoxeter (2m 7f, good) back in April, when 1.25 lengths clear of Young Offender and a further 7 lengths clear of the rest. Jonjo O’Neill’s charge kept himself involved in the following couple of races, including a fourth last time out at Uttoxeter (3m, good) once more and looks destined for another strong run on this seasonal debut. Kevin Brogan returns with a 3lbs claim and there is potential to add to his solitary victory in this contest
Race 4 (2:00pm) MISTY BLOOM
Consistent performer trained by Emma Lavelle, who added a fifth career win at Ludlow (2m 7f, good) at the end of last season, when beating Une De La Seniere off a reduced mark. She returned to action in September, placing fifth of eight at Warwick (2m 5f, good), but shaped up as though that run will push her on to better things this time around. More expected in this contest and could well take the spoils in this five runner contest
Race 5 (2:30pm) BREWERS PROJECT
Has shown fine form over the last year, winning twice, including the latest over C&D in April, when justifying odds on favouritism and winning by 7 lengths, ahead of Blumen Glory. Paul Nicholls’s runner faces a tougher task with this opening handicap hurdling mark, but there looks to be more to come from this 7-yo, with the potential to go into chasing in the future. Expected to be involved and at the front of the pack, challenging for honours.
Race 6 (3:00pm) BRAVE KINGDOM
Placed third in a point contest, before taking the spoils at Fontwell (2m 1f, good to soft) on debut in a bumper for Harry Whittington, back in February of this year. He looked very good, when easing to a 4.25 length victory and now makes debut for Paul Nicholls here. Timings for that run suggest more to come and makes his hurdling debut, following a wind op. High expectations for this exciting prospect.
