Race 1 (1:45pm) UNIVERSAL FOLLY

Picked up a maiden win back in October, when 3.75 lengths clear of Wor Verge at Carlisle (2m 1f, soft), with this Nicky Richards runner since placing second at Musselburgh (2m 3f, good to soft) and third in the latest at Ayr, back in January. Expected to show plenty in this contest and with Conor Rabbitt claiming 10lbs, that could make the difference in this competitive contest.

Race 2 (2:20pm) HOLLY HARTINGO

Perfect in two starts so far, for Alastair Ralph, adding to the victory on debut at Ludlow (2m 5f, good to soft) in December, with the spoils at Huntingdon (2m 4f, soft) in January, defying a penalty and finishing 5 lengths clear of Hillfinch. More to come it would seem and another strong performance is expected from this Jonathan Burke ride.

Race 3 (2:55pm) CHEDDLETON

Consistent type, with five wins and three places in thirteen starts, although he is without a win in five runs, since stepping up from Class 3 level. He placed second to Eclair D’Ainay at Wetherby (1m 7f, soft) at the end of the year, before returning from a seven week break, to place fourth at Warwick, three weeks ago. Returns to 2 miles this time around and Jennie Candish’s charge should feature.

Race 4 (3:30pm) CLOTH CAP

Big improver last season, which included a Grade 3 – Ladbrokes Trophy win at Newbury (3m 1f, good), when 10 lengths clear of Aye Right, before following up with a Listed victory at Kelso (2m 7f, good to soft). Has struggled this season so far, but arguably has had better performances than the bare results state, including a sixth, when looking to retain his Ladbrokes Trophy, last November. Needs to show his ability here, having refused at Ascot, in the Howden Silver Cup, but a very capable Jonjo O’Neill runner, who barring any issues, should be in the hunt.

Race 5 (4:05pm) IMPHAL

In very strong form, over the last four months, winning three times and placing twice in the last five starts, with their latest run, seeing them grab the victory in a Class 3 hurdle contest at Wincanton (3m, good to soft), when 2.25 lengths ahead of Acey Milan back in January. Gary Moore’s yard is in good form and the double looks a good possibility here.

Race 6 (4:40pm) LUPUS REGEM

Two wins in the opening three starts, including a victory at Newcastle , some 2.25 lengths clear of Stokes back in December, with a further 7 lengths to the rest. The attempt at the double, failed in the latest start at Wetherby (2m, good to soft), when 0.75 lengths behind Limetree Boy in a novice contest. Potentially has more in the locker and this Olly Murphy trained runner, can go close once again.
