However at third of six at Carlisle (5f, good to firm) last month, alongside a fourth of nine here over C&D, twenty-five days ago, when half a length adrift of the winner, Silky Wilkie, three weeks ago. Drops a further 1lb for this contest and has strong claims, if continuing the improvement.

A victory and three places in six starts, picking up the maiden win at the third attempt, back in August at Hamilton (1m, good), when easing to a 4.75 length margin in his last race for Hugo Palmer. Has shown promise in the three runs for Willie Haggas so far and placed second in the latest at Chester (7.5f, good), when 1.5 lengths behind Outgate. First time cheekpieces can encourage a little more out of this progressive runner, who goes in as favourite.
3:30pm – ARISTOBULUS
GG’s nap of the day has two wins in the opening three starts, including a 3.75 length win at Nottingham (6f, good to soft) last August. James Ferguson’s charge placed second on return from a 219 day break, again at Nottingham (6f, good), when 1.75 lengths adrift of King Of Jungle, before a decent run here, over C&D, when fourth of nine, three weeks ago. Remains lightly raced and can show further improvement in this contest.
