Two wins and three seconds for Richard Hannon, before switching to Rod Millman’s yard and not quite yet finding success, although he did pick up a second for his new home, back in December, over C&D, when half a length behind Endured. Was gelded after that and it’s taken some time to get going again, with the latest of ninth (twelve runners), offering minor progress. Comes in 2lbs lighter than that aforementioned second and goes in as narrow favourite, based on past form. Improvement needed, but this may be the race we see that.

Winner on debut over C&D in February, when 0.75 lengths clear of Aphelios, before being unable to back that up in two subsequent runs at Wolverhampton and Thirsk. However he returned to form in his first run since being gelded, taking the spoils at Nottingham (6f, good), beating Aristobulus by 1.75 lengths in a strong display. Rise of 6lbs looks reasonable considering that performance and looks set to battle Latin Lover for the win.

Comes in to this race off the back of sealing a double on return to action, here over C&D, some three weeks ago, beating Bowman by a length, who has since gone on to win a Class 2 contest. Rob Hornby continues to ride, having now gone two for two onboard and this Ralph Beckett charge looks set to battle it out with Secret Moment for the victory.
