5:50pm – BORDER EDGE
Debut seventh at Doncaster (7f, good) back in March, when 5.75 lengths adrift of Maljoom, before returning from an 88 day break, to win a Class 4 Novice Stakes at Nottingham (1m, good to firm), when cruising to a 5.5 length margin, ahead of Counsel. The form of that race has not really held up as would like, but still looks to enough here, with Caph Star the main threat of the field.
Today’s Racecards
7:20pm – PENGUIN ISLAND
Made an excellent start to his career, when second on debut at Newmarket (6f, good) in May, missing out by just half a length to Centre Court. A fifth at Chelmsford (7f, a/w) last time out, saw the finish fifth of nine thanks in part to rearing up in the stalls and getting away slowly. Interesting now gelded and that last outing has not put off potential backers, having now shortened to second favourite. Almutawakel is the main concern here, but has the potential to grab a maiden win here.
8:50pm – MURAU
Two wins in the last three starts, including last time out, when attempting 2m for the first time, here in June, beating Caldwell by half a length, making good headway as they headed into the final furlong. Looks to have more to come and goes in as favourite, ahead of Vino Victrix.
