He made a strong start to his hurdling career, with a second, behind useful stablemate Pied Piper in a Juvenile contest at Punchestown (1m 7f, heavy) on New Years Eve, finishing half a length behind. Further progress is expected here and looks to be in a straight fight with Fil Dor for the win.

ASTERION FORLONGE has five wins in thirteen, with the last of those coming at Punchestown (2m 5f, yielding) back in April, when easing to a 14 length victory, ahead of Walk Away. Jumping issues have resurfaced in two runs since, in the John Durkan at Punchestown and in the King George on Boxing Day, when going well in both runs, but if he can remove those errors here, he has genuine chances over this 3m trip.
