Race 1 (2:00pm) DARASSO
Six time winner, who took the spoils here over C&D, in the Grade 3 – Limestone Lad Hurdle. He followed up with a second at Gowran Park, in another Grade 3, just eight days ago, behind Teahupoo. Switches from hurdles to chasing here and can continue the strong form in this opener.
Race 2 (2:30pm) BALLYSHANNON ROSE
Two wins in the last three starts, with the latest at Thurles (2m 4f, good to yielding), just a month ago, when beating Jeremys Flame by half a length in the Grade 2 Coolmore Mogul Chase. She held on well that day and this switch to a handicap debut makes for a compelling argument for her chances. Strong claims and should feature.
Race 3 (3:00pm) Ha D’Or
Competitive performer for Willie Mullin, who placed second in the penultimate start at Navan, before stepping up and taking the spoils, last time out at Fairyhouse (2m, good to yielding), when 2.25 lengths ahead of Celestial Horizon. The yard is in good form and combined with the recent run, this looks to be s big opportunity for this 5-yo.
Race 4 (3:30pm) DOCTOR CHURCHILL
Picked up a third career victory on Boxing Day, when 2.5 lengths ahead of Champion Green at Limerick (2m, heavy), before returning from a short five week break and placing second at Punchestown (2m, yielding), four weeks ago. The winner, Justicialism races here once again, with Gordon Elliott’s charge up for a potential reversal this time around.
Race 5 (4:00pm) HIGHLAND CHARGE
Noel Meade’s runner, took a debut win at Fairyhouse back in November 2020 and after dropping off a little, form wise, he has placed second in the last two runs, firstly at Navan (2m 4f, yielding) and then at Leopardstown (2m soft) on Boxing Day, when 8 lengths behind the very strong, Sir Gerhard. Returns with a tongue strap here and should feature in this contest, if retaining the form.
Race 6 (4:30pm) BRING ON THE NIGHT
Twice winner in France on the flat for Andre Fabre and now makes his long awaited hurdle debut for Willie Mullins, after an absence of twenty-one months. Paul Townend rides, which highlights the potential this runner has and could well feature, in a very intriguing contest.
