1:20pm – DEFINITE
After three relativey unexciting starts last season, Ralph Beckett’s charge improved on seasonal debut, when sixth of thirteen at Haydock in April and then returned from a further 56 days away to take a maiden win at the same venue, over an extended 1m 2f, beating Star Of Valour by 1.75 lengths. He stepped in class last time out at Nottingham (1m 2f, good to firm) to place second on three, when 3.25 lenghts adrift of the progressive Eagle’s Way. Strong claims here and looks set to battle Frantanck for the spoils.

2:30pm – AWAY HE GOES
Three wins and six places in eighteen career starts, although the last victory was back in September of last year, at Doncaster. A brief spell in the U.A.E. saw them grab three places in four starts at Meydan, but has not quite been able to match that form since returning home, with a second in the Group 1 – Goodwood Cup Stakes (2m, soft) back in July of last year, the clear highlight. He placed fifth in this years renewal of that race and can build upon that here, with a drop in grade and distance.
3:00pm – DANCE FEVER
Got off to a whilrlwind start, when taking the spoils in the opening three runs, including a couple of Class 4 contests, but just one win in the fifteen runs since, in a Class 3 at Leicester, thirteen months ago. Eleven runs have come since, but recent trips suggest a return to top form, having followed a second of five at Doncaster (7f, good to firm), with a third of eighteen at Goodwood (7f, good to firm) last month, in two further Class 3 contests. The step up level may seem counter-intuitive but he drops back to his previous winning weight here and cannot be discounted.
