Seven career wins for this experienced Gary Moore runner, with the last of those coming at Plumpton back in February, beating Velvet Cognac by 2.5 lengths. A couple of seconds at Fontwell, over March and April, offered genuine hopes of another victory in the works, before a fifth of seventeen at Fontwell (2m 5f, good), saw them 17 lengths adrift of the winner. Arguably prefers the longer trip, but still has useful claims in what looks to be a competitive contest.

Without a win in fourteen starts, since taking the spoils at Huntingdon (2m 4f, good) back in January 2019. Has not had too much to shout about since, but a fourth of ten at Plumpton (3m 1f, good to soft) offered a spark of hope, back in February, before a disappointing seventh of ten in his latest, here over C&D in March. Makes yard debut today, which could well reinvogorate his hopes in what is a lesser contest overall.

Picked a fifth career win on his last run for Graeme McPherson, here over C&D, back in May of last year, but has not been able to replicate that in three Winter runs for Fergal O’Brien so far, placing ninth of twelve in his last run, back in January. He comes into this contest off a dangerous mark and could well find a revival, over a course he clearly enjoys. Both Good News and Thunderstruck are tough contenders, but beatable and a return to winning ways, would not be a surprise.
