The Punchestown Festival begins on Tuesday and it promises to provide a fantastic send-off for the 2020/21 jumps season. To celebrate the Punchestown Festival, Paddy Power are offering new customers £60 in free bets when they bet £10 on any Punchestown race.
The 2021 Punchestown Festival promises to be one for the ages. Day 1 sees not one, but two clashes of the jumps racing titans, in Chacun Pour Soi v Allaho, and Monkfish v Envoi Allen.
Rachael Blackmore and Paul Townend square off on both occasions, and a mere side note to this weeks racing is the duo’s continued fight for supremacy in the 2020/21 Jumps Jockey Championship – a battle that looks set to go right down to the wire.
Alongside this, Cheltenham Gold Cup hero Minella Indo is back in action. Henry De Bromhead’s star renews rivalry with Al Boum Photo in Wednesday’s Punchestown Gold Cup.
Thursday sees not one, but two Grade 1 contests, with the Champion Stayers Hurdle looking one of the best races of the meeting – with last month’s Stayers’ Hurdle 1-2-4 back in action.
One of the most popular hurdlers in training, Honeysuckle, returns to the track in Friday’s Punchestown Champion Hurdle, putting her eleven-race unbeaten streak on the line. Immediately following her race, stable companion Bob Olinger attempts to land another Grade 1 following his impressive victory in last month’s Ballymore Novices’ Hurdle.
The week concludes with yet another two Grade 1 contests, namely the Mares Champion Hurdle and Champion Four Year Old Hurdle, with the latter seeing the unbeaten Triumph Hurdle winner Quilixios’s return to action.
