Today’s top selections from the press and media focus on day one of the Royal Ascot meeting, including a couple of strongly fancied runners in the Duke Of Cambridge Stakes (4:10pm). So check out the top five most popular newspaper tips below, along with the best odds available.
1: JUBILOSO (4:10pm Royal Ascot) (6 Votes)
Struggled on last run back in August, when seventh at Sandown, when encountering fast ground for the first time, but is expected to perform better on more favourable conditions. Performed well on previous appearance at Royal Ascot, when third in the Coronation Cup and should go well off the back of a long break.

2: VERDANA BLUE (4:40pm Royal Ascot) (5 Votes)
Impressive hurdler, who won the Scottish Champion Hurdle at Ayr, back in April of 2019. Last race on flat brought a fourth at this venue, in a Group 3 back in May. Goes in as top weight, but still off of a solid mark with Ryan Moore onboard, will no doubt be in the mix at the business end of the race.

3: LAVENDER’S BLUE (4:10pm Royal Ascot) (3 Votes)
Picked up a second victory in four races, when taking the spoils in a Group 3 race at Sandown back in August last year. Ended the season with a creditable fourth in the Sun Chariot at Newmarket in October, although that could have been better, if a clear run was found. Based off of that run, more is to come it would seem, but needs to avoid trouble. Every chance..

4: CIRCUS MAXIMUS (1:50pm Royal Ascot) (3 Votes)
Has bounced back relatively well since a poor showing (sixth) in the Derby last year, winning the St James’s Palace Stakes by a neck, beating King Of Comedy and going on to take the Prix Du Moulin at Longchamp. Last appearance was at Santa Anita, when fourth in the Breeders Cup Mile. Every chance of picking up another big race win today.

5: FRANKLY DARLING (2:25pm Royal Ascot) (2 Votes)
Strong favourite for this 1m 3f race, with this Frankel filly pulling off a 5 length win at Newcastle a fortnight ago. The rise up to today’s 1m 4f trip looks an excellent shout by a trainer who has won this race in two of the last three editions. Anything less than a win, would be a surprise.
