1:15pm Royal Ascot (5 Places) PLANTADREAM – 22/1
Debuted as a 50/1 outsider on only turf performance, when third at Chester, but has been in scintillating form on the all-weather. Picked up a win and place in two subsequent starts, before really showcasing his talent in a handicap debut win at Lingfield (11 days ago), by a 7 length margin. Faces a tougher challenge today with a 14lbs rise, but if he can continue the progression, he could well feature, Good each-way price.
2:25pm Royal Ascot (5 Places) SUBJECTIVIST – 22/1
Despite just the one victory (Chelmsford 2019) in seven appearances, there clearly is some talent in this Mark Johnston runner, with second in the listed Stonehenge Stakes at Salisbury offering a glimpse of that back in August.. Has not run since October, so sharpness could be a minor issue, but Ryan Moore is booked to ride for the first time and this close relative of Sir Ron Preistley should find the extended trip more to his liking. Solid each-way claims with the five places.
3:35pm Royal Ascot (5 Places) WILLIE JOHN – 18/1
Our final pick is this Andrea Atzeni ride, who has not quite lived up to the billing, since successive victories in his first two starts. Finished second to Elarqam by 2.5 lengths in a listed race at Goodwood last May, but provided little in his last two starts since. Makes handicap debut today and takes on the mile trip for the first time too. Clearly talented and arguably has the best chance of showing that in a fairly open race.
