Race 1 (1:15pm) LANGAFEL

Gary Moore’s runner was a three race maiden on the flat, before picking up a hurdling double in his last two starts, following up a Newton Abbot victory, with the spoils at Market Rasen (2m, good) back in August, when 1.25 lengths ahead of Corporal Jones. He has enjoyed a near eight month break and returns with minor fitness questions, but overall, if ready, should get in amongst the leaders at very least here.

Race 2 (1:50pm) PEEJAYBEE

Four wins and two places in six starts so far and is another coming into a race off the back of a double, having secured a successive win, last time out at Sedgefield (2m, soft), beating Limerick Leader by 2.25 lengths, with the rest a further 10 back. This C&D winner looks in fine form and can add another victory in this contest.

Race 3 (2:25pm) BALCO COASTAL

Nicky Henderson’s runner has won three of five starts so far, including the penultimate start at Ludlow (1m 7f, good to soft) in December, before impressing at Cheltenham (2m 4f, good) in a Grade 2 contest, when second to North Lodge by 2.5 lengths at the end of January. He comes into this handicap off a very good mark and goes in as clear favourite to take the win, with form also looking the best of this field.

Race 4 (3:00pm) MULLENBEG

This Milton Harris charge has got off to the perfect start, with two wins in two, including a 5.5 length win, in a Listed bumper contest at Cheltenham (2m, good) last time out, ahead of Fairy Gem. Strong claims once again in this bumper contest and leads the market at the time of writing.

Race 5 (3:35pm) SCENE NOT HERD

Comes into this race looking for a four-timer, having struck at Hereford and Newcastle, before making it a treble at Ludlow (2m 4f, good to soft) and beating Minella Trump by 3 lengths back in December. Unbeaten over fences so far and capable of repeating that once again, although Danny Kirwan and Killer Kane both warrant respect here.

Race 6 (4:10pm) SWITCH HITTER

In decent form this season, returning to action with a win at Hereford (3m 1f, good) back in November. After a third in the penultimate start, Jonjo O’Neill’s runner placed second of four, again at Hereford last time out, finishing 2.25 lengths adrift of Orrisdale. Longer trip will suit and should feature.
