The first half of this Southwell duo, brings Gorgeous General in the 2:30pm race, as the Lawrence Mullaney trained ride goes in as favourite for this four furlong cavalry charge. The horse has won three of the last four starts, including last time out at the same course and distance, with a similar outcome expected this afternoon, although Piazon looks to be the main threat in a fairly average field.
Later in the [4:40pm] race, another favourite in Copper And Five looks to take the spoils, in this mile long Novice Stakes. The John Gosden trained runner makes his debut in the race, with plenty expected from this three year old. Stay Forever offers the biggest challenge to victory, with plenty of races under their belts, but the Gosden runner should have enough to bag a debut win here.
