Race 1 (2:08pm) DUNEOMENO
Useful, if unspectacular performances in his opening four starts for Christian Williams, before finding a burst of form to take a maiden win in chase/handicap debut, last time out at Ludlow (1m 7f, soft), a week ago, when 2 lengths clear of Letsbe Avenue and a further 8.5 lengths clear of the rest. Reverts back to hurdles this time around and should find the extended trip, well within his grasp and can build upon that victory in this contest
Race 2 (2:38pm) MAJOR ROBINSON
Winner on debut for Stuart Crawford, before switching to Martin Pipe’s yard, where he has failed to add to that tally since, placing three times in fourteen subsequent runs. A third in the penultimate start at Wetherby (3m, good to soft), saw them 4.25 lengths adrift of the winner, Malinas Island in January. A sixth over 3m 1f last time out, saw them have little to work with in the closing stages and this drop back to 2m 3f, along with a further drop in weight, can resurrect the better form he has produced.
Race 3 (3:08pm) LANGLEY HUNDRED
Three runs so far for Philip Hobbs and has improved, albeit slightly each time, with the latest run at Exeter (2m, heavy) producing a fifth of eleven, some nine weeks ago. Longer trip is taken this time, with the extended 2m 3f, looking ideal, but does need to show a little more, to challenge for the spoils in this weak contest
Race 4 (3:38pm) YOUNG O’LEARY
One win and two places in seven starts, with the maiden victory, coming last March here at Taunton (2m 2f, good). Form has been intermittent since, with a second over C&D back in November, followed by a useful fifth of eleven, in a handicap chase, again over C&D (soft) in January. Can get involved here and it’s hoped that first time cheekpieces add a little extra.
Race 5 (4:08pm) MONEY SPINNER
Struggled to make the frame in a trio of maiden and novice hurdles, before stepping up his game and placing third on handicap debut at Bangor (2m 7f, soft), in a Class 4 contest, finishing 3 lengths adrift of winner, Tin Pat, nineteen days ago, with the winner franking that form at Carlisle recently. Hood refitted for this race and based on that latest run, should be involved heavily once again.
Race 6 (4:38pm) GRAND TURINA
Venetia Williams’ 11-yo has been in strong form over the last four months, sealing a Veteran’s double at Warwick (3m, heavy) on New Years Eve and just missing out on placed finishes ijn the last two, when third of five at Carlisle and most recently at Leicester (2m 4f, soft), when 3 lengths adrift of winner, Cut The Mustard, a fortnight ago. Drops in class here and she can surely return to winning ways once again.
