The Fred Darling Stakes takes place at Newbury on Saturday afternoon, with this Group 3 contest over 7 furlongs featuring twelve runners. Wild Beauty goes in as favourite for the contest, but i’m leaning towards the progressive second in the market, Jumbly.
Three wins in four starts so far, for this exciting Roger Charlton filly, including a victory last time out, over C&D back in October, to win the Listed – Radley Stakes by 4.75 lengths, ahead of Breeze Easy on heavy ground. Has won under good conditions back on debut and looks to have plenty of opportunity to continue the excellent strikerate here, assuming she can get the better of the favourite.

LIVERPOOL – versus Manchester City (FA Cup Semi-final, 3:30pm)
Liverpool and Manchester City meeting for the second weekend in a row, as the two sides meet in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley.
After last week’s 2-2 draw at the Etihad, both sides were in European action, with a somewhat rotated Reds side drawing 3-3 with Benfica, while Pep Guardiola had no such luxuries, as his side held Atletico Madrid to a 0-0 draw in a bruising encounter to also qualify for the next round.
City had several players injured in that game, including Kevin De Bruyne and it remains to be seen whether they feature here. Liverpool should in theory be fresher for this rematch and that may just swing the tie in their favour here.

SUNDAY
CELTIC – versus Rangers (Scottish Cup Semi-Final, 2:00pm)
The Old Firm meet in this Scottish Cup semi-final on Sunday, with both sides looking to get one over their bitter rivals. Celtic lead in by six points in the league, winning their last six and smashing St Johnstone 7-0 last week.
Rangers have got back to winning ways, winning their last last two, including a superb win over Braga on Thursday, to progress in the Europa League. However, that victory in extra-time is likely to hand Celtic a major advantage, with the Hoops enjoying a full week off. Celtic to take the win in a fiery encounter.

CHELSEA – versus Crystal Palace (FA Cup Smei-Final, 4:30pm)
Chelsea take on Crystal Palace in a London derby, for a place in the FA Cup final. The Blues will be buoyed by the impressive victory over Real Madrid, despite the elimination last week and having beaten Southampton 6-0, the week before, they are in great form
Crystal Palace have become a tough team to beat under Patrick Vieira and only recently succumbed to a first defeat in eight, losing to Leicester City 2-1. As mentioned in the above selections, fitness could be an issue for Chelsea here, but I feel that this could be the anomaly this time around. Palace are a good side, but they will miss Conor Gallacher, who was not allowed by parent club, Chelsea to play against them. Chelsea to win, but only just.
