One of the big races of the weekend is at Sandown Park, with the Listed – Scurry Stakes. Just six runners take part in this contest and looking at the market, favourite Caturra looks the one to beat.
A three time winner, this Clive Cox runner, grabbed his last vcitory at Doncaster (5f, good to firm) in the Group 2 – Flying Childers Stakes back in September, beating Armor by a neck. He returned to action at Chantilly (5.5f good), when second in the Group 3 – Prix Sigy, behind Miramar, before a creditable fifth of ten in the Group 2 – Sandy Lane Stakes at Haydock, having been left with little room in the closing stages. More to come, despite a penalty and is clearly the one to beat here.

ENGLAND – v Italy (UEFA Nations League, 7:45pm)
The UEFA Nations League continues with a cracking match at Molineux, as England and Italy meet for the first time since the Euro 2022 final at Wembley, which of course Italy won on penalties.
Both sides have played twice so far in this group, with England losing 1-0 to Hungary, before a better performance saw the Three Lions stick with Germany in Munich, with Harry Kane’s late penalty sealing a draw, after a good second half by Gareth Southgate’s side.
Italy are rebuilding after missing out on the World Cup for a second successive time, with Roberto Mancini likely to be happy with the start the Azzurri have made, drawing 1-1 with Germany, before a 2-1 win over Hungary last time out.
Both sides are likely to make changes for the game and this loks a golden opportunity for England to get a first win in this group, in what should be a tight contest up in Wolverhampton.

SUNDAY
NORWAY – v Sweden (UEFA Nations League, 5:00pm)
Norway host local rivals Sweden in Oslo, with the home side looking to make it a double over their neighbours, having won for only the second time in their history, away in Sweden, as Erling Haaland continued to show his class.
The sides have played one match since, with Norway frustratingly held by Slovenia to a goalless draw, whiel Sweden were beaten 1-0 at home by Serbia. Expect a reaction from Sweden, as they look to get themselves out of this slump, but I can only see Norway taking the three points here.

PORTUGAL – v Switzerland (UEFA Nations League, 7:45pm)
Portugal visit Switzerland in another UEFA Nations League contest. The Swiss are in poor form of late, without a win in five and only picking up a draw in that time with Kosovo. They have lost all three games in the group so far, scoring once and conceding seven.
Portugal were held by Spain, before beating both Switzerland (4-0) and Czech Republic (2-0), as the Portuguese extended the run to just one defeat in twelve. Switzerland will be looking to make up for the 4-0 hammering in Portugal last week and although a better performance is expected, another defeat is likely to be on the cards here.
