SATURDAY

AUSTRALIA – v England (10:55am, 1st Test. Perth, Australia)

England’s tour of Australia begins in Perth on Saturday morning, as they look to repeat the 3-0 series win in the last tour, back in 2016. England are in fact unbeaten in eight matches against the Aussies, but with Eddie Jones still in the process of rebuilding his side, this won’t be the cakewalk some may feel.

Australia had lost their last three games, in the tour of the U.K. losing to Wales, Scotland and England 32-15 last year, but on home soil, they are a different proposition. England may be fancied to continue their run of results against the hosts, but they have lost four of their last six internationals, including a 52-21 defeat to the Barbarians. Both sides will need a win for confidence and I see Australia doing just that.

AUSTRALIA TO WIN (3/4)

NATIVE TRAIL – Coral Eclipse (Sandown, 3:35)

The big race of the day at Sandown is the Coral Eclipse, a Group 1 contest raced over 1m 1f. Just six runners take part, with Vadeni the favourite to take the spoils, however i’m plumping for Native Trail here.

He has six wins in seven starts, although his unbeaten run ended at Newmarket, in the 2000 Guineas back in April, when 0.75 lengths behind Coroebus. Charlie Appleby’s star runner, did bounce back to win the Irish equivalent at Curragh in May, when 1.75 lengths clear of New Energy and will be refreshed from this short break too and I just fancy him to take the win here and prove the doubters wrong.

NATIVE TRAIL TO WIN (3/1)

SUNDAY

LIMERICK vs Galway (GAA Hurling, 3:30pm)

The All-Ireland Hurling Championship reaches its semi-final stage, as Limerick and Galway battle it out, for the right to play either Kilkenny or Clare in the final.

Limerick won the Munster final, beating Clare to automatically go into the semi-finals, while Galway lost to Kilkenny in the Leinster final, which saw them enter the quarter-final stage of the All-Ireland, beating Cork by a single point in a thrilling contest.

Limerick have won the last two meetings, in with the latest coming in 2020, in a 27-24 win and with that extra game having to be played, Limerick hold the advantage here.

LIMERICK TO WIN -7pt Handicap (21/10)

San Lorenzo vs Barracas Central (Liga Profesional, 7:00pm)

In Liga Profesional, the Argentine top flight, Barracas Central host San Lorenzo in a Sunday evening kick-off for us in the U.K.

Barracas are without a win in five, but have drawn three and scored in each of those drawn matches. San Lorenzo are unbeaten in seven, drawing five too, as they continue to slip back from the leading pack.

The sides have only met once, back in 2021 in the Copa Argentina and as the home side continue their quest to keep their top flight status, the viistors, San Lorenzo should be too strong here and can look to extend that unbeaten run here, with a win.

SAN LORENZO TO WIN & BOTH TO SCORE (21/5)
