SATURDAY
EARL OF TYRONE – Ebor Handicap (Class 2) (3:35pm York)
The Ebor meeting at York has it’s final card of the week on Saturday, with the Ebor Handicap featuring. This Class 2 contest has had some famous winners and another name will be added to that list.
For the victory, I’m going for Earl Of Tyrone, with this Paddy Twomey runner looking for a four-timer, having secured the treble, with a win in the Listed – Martin Malony Stakes, beating Raise You by 1.5 lengths at Limerick back in June.
He is rested and should be fresh for this contest, in which he goes in as favourite. Gaassee and Okita Soushi offer the main threat, but if at his very best, he should be unbeatable.
EARL OF TYRONE TO WIN (11/2)
ARSENAL v Bournemouth (Premier League, 5:30pm)
Bournemouth host Arsenal, with the Cherries, looking to bounce back form the 4-0 loss at Man City, as Scott Parker’s side look to stop a free flowing Gunners side, with Gabriel Jesus at the heart of all good things.
Arsenal made it two wins on the bounce, with a 4-2 win over Leicester City, as Gabriel Jesus scored twice and set up two more. Defensive frailties are still a notable issue for the Gunners, but Mikel Arteta’s side look capable of outscoring any side.
In the last four visits to the Vitality Stadium, Arsenal have won twice and drawn, with both sides scoring The Gunners look too strong for Bournemouth here, so expect Arteta’s side to continue their perfect start, with another victory.

SUNDAY
CANBERRA RAIDERS v Newcastle Knights (NRL, 7:05am)
The Canberra Raiders travel to take on Newcastle Knights on Sunday morning, with a win for the Raiders keeping them in contention for a play-off place. They sit 2pts behind the Sydney Roosters but are in strong form, winning four of the last five starts and beating the Dragons 24-22 last time out.
The Knights are more or less playing for pride now, although they have a mathematical chance of qualifying for the top eight, however form of one win in five, does not bode well. The Raiders narrowly won 20-18 in June, but a bigger margin of victory looks likely here.
CANBERRA RAIDERS TO WIN (3/10)
MANCHESTER CITY v Newcastle United (Premier League, 4:30pm)
Newcastle United host Manchester City, as Eddie Howe looks to find a way of stopping the Champions from continuing their perfect start to the season.
The Magpies have started well and followed an opening day 2-0 win over Nottm Forest, with a goalless draw against Brighton.
City have unsurprisingly won their opening two games, beating West Ham 2-0 on the opening day, before a 4-0 over Bournemouth, with more talk about Erling Haaland failing to score in that fixture, than the comfortable nature of the win
City have scored 22 goals in the last six meetings with the Magpies and although I expect a better performance from the home side, another City win is likely.
