Has won here on good to firm in April and despite a 5lbs rise, looks capable once again. Connor Beasley is back onboard for the first time since October.

(2) (7:15pm Thirsk) QUICK WALTZ was 7/1, now 7/2
Has not threated in three starts so far, although a sixth of nine offered minor hopes on her debut for Mick Easterby at Redcar (1m 2f, good) in April, when 9 lengths adrift of the winner. However, that optimism was soon gone, when finishing last of fifteen at Wetherby (1m 2f, good) a fortnight later. Extends to 1m 4f on handicap debut, but the its difficult to see the market interest based on form so far. Places, loo the only recommendation.

(3) (5:00pm Chelmsford) ROCCOZAAM was 14/1 now 4/1
Elzam colt, out of Ivor’s Magic, costing £12,000 as a yearling. Dam was a 7f, winner as a 2-yo and half-sister to useful 7f-1m 3f winner, The Blue Banana. This is Daryl Holland’s first all-weather 2-yo, but he did have a turf 2-yo winner recently, which more than likely explains the market interest and optimism. Shane Kelly is onboard for this first run.

(4) (6:30pm Chelmsford) INVEIGLE was 14/1 now 6/1
Impressed, when third at York (5f good) in a Class 3 contest, back in September, before following that up with a victory at Chelmsford (7f, a/w) a month later, winning by 2.5 lengths, ahead of Ocean Line. Return to action looked needed last month at Newmarket (7f, good to firm), when sixth (of eight), while a tactical race didn’t help either. Extends to the mile today and just needs to push on again, with each-way claims.

Despite only beating two rivals on debut (thirteenth) at Wetherby (1m 2f, good) in April, there was a fair bit to like about the performance, despite dropping off towards the end. A reduction to 7f could just be the ticket today and there has been plenty of interest on the boards this afternoon. In from 50’s and worth a dabble with places in mind.
