Was brought down at the same venue a month later, but has showed little ill-effect from that fall, when placing second at Cork (2m 4f, good to yielding) four weeks ago, with Rain In Spain just too strong. Up 3lbs but plenty of ground versatility and has been pushed into clear favourite today.

Only win came back in August at Chepstow (1m 4f, soft) and has placed just twice in the seven starts since, including last time out at Lingfield (1m 3f soft), just 1.25 lengths behind Thermal. Backed in strongly this afternoon, with the potential for softer ground a plus. Comes back off an eleven week break, with his only previous win coming after a lengthy break too. Strong claims overall here.

(3) (7:00pm Tipperary) ROYAL PIPPEN was 10/1 now 15/4
One win, which came back in October at Limerick (7f, heavy), but has found some form in recent trips, with a run of 54455 in his last five races. Placed fifth a week ago at Galway (1m, good), some 2.75 lengths behind the winner, but may need to drop further down in mark to have genuine victory hopes. However, the market has more confidence and he could well surprise, although each-way terms look the best bet.

Without a win since last year (Cork) and in the ten races since, has placed just twice. Was second of three, over C&D (good to frim) in June, when beaten by a neck to Erosandpsyche in the penultimate start, before looking out of her depth amongst listed company at Naas. Joey Sheridan’s 5lbs claim could be key here, but places look the better option.

Zoffany colt, out of Wasmiya, who is a first foal. Dam is an unraced half-sister to two winners and is out of another unraced sister to six winners, including Group 1 victors in Yesterday and Quarter Moon. Stan Moore’s charge certainly has the pedigree and has a chance in this relatively weak contest. Backed in from 20’’s with places looking ideal.
