(1) (7:35pm Lingfield) BREATH OF SUN was 13/2 now 5/2

Won first two career starts over course and distance, including a four runner contest back in March. Elevated in class, when third at Kempton last time out on handicap debut, but looks capable of bouncing back, now back at a venue he clearly enjoys. Backed into favouritism.

(2) (8:35pm Lingfield) SPUROFTHEMOMENT was 8/1, now 9/2

Two wins in thirteen, including in her penultimate start at Wolverhampton (5f, a/w) in March, when 2.25 lengths ahead of Shamshon. Struggled last time out on turf, when fourth at Brighton (5f, good to firm), but should relish a return to the all-weather this evening. Backed into second favourite and could give favourite, Lethal Blast plenty to think about.

(3) (8:15pm Ballinrobe) HEY JOHNNY was 11/1 now 9/2

This half-brother to Champion Bumper winner Sir Gerhard, hasn’t quite reached that sort of ability, but should show some progression this evening. Finished fifth on debut at Fairyhouse (2m, yielding) behind odds on favourite, Dark Raven, before finishing sixth of twenty-two at the Punchestown Festival (2m, yielding) last month. Should feature in this lesser contest, but needs to start showing that potential. Each- way claims look more justified here.

(4) (7:25pm Newcastle) FEARBY was 18/1 now 11/2

Havana Gold colt, out of Coolminx, who is a half-brother to winners, Cool Team (winner in Hong Kong, RPR 89) and Summer Blossom (RPR 77). Dam was a useful winner and half-sister to American Grade 2 winner, Beau Recall. Bit of interest in the market makes places look worthy of some attention, although he may need the run.

(5) (8:25pm Newcastle) SEA STORM as 14/1, now 6/1

Six race maiden, but one of her two placed performances came here at Newcastle last September, when a 50/1 third of thirteen and some 2.5 lengths adrift of the winner. Has not really been able to build upon that in three runs since, but with Oisin Murphy booked for the ride, improvement looks possible.
