Plenty expected, especially with the booking of Ryan Moore, which is rare for Archie Watson’s yard. Backed in overnight and throughout the day, with strong claims going on this amount of confidence from punters.

(2) (5:25pm Kempton) THUNDERCLAP was 9/1, now 10/3
Five race maiden, who has performed okay, but hasn’t ever really kicked so far. A sixth at Nottingham (1m 2f, good) last time out, saw them 11.5 lengths adrift and clearly needs to show more this evening. In that race and the race prior, plenty was expected, so today’s drop in distance and class, plus a switch to the all-weather could see that promise, finally bare fruit. Once again strong backing pushes his case further.

(3) (8:15pm Yarmouth) WORLD OF WINDHOVER was 10/1 now 10/3
Showed some excellent from in June, firstly finishing second over C&D (good to firm), before taking a maiden win at Kempton (6f, a/w), when half a length clear of Tyger Bay. Wore a first time visor that day and is retained here. Returns to Class 5 acton, having struggled at Newmarket last time out, in a Class 4 and looks to be in with a big shout for this very competitive contest.

(4) (7:15pm Yarmouth) GODDESS OF FIRE was 9/1 now 4/1
Not won in nearly two years, but has been in and around the places in recent runs, placing third at Newmarket (1m, good to firm) twelve days ago and then placing fourth at Ascot (1m, good to soft) six days later, when attempting a class higher and finishing just 1.5 lengths adrift of the winner. Likely to feature again and Laura Pearson claims 3lbs.

(5) (8:00pm Kempton) LADY PENDRAGON was 16/1, now 13/2
Two victories in eleven starts, with the last of those back in December 2020, when securing a double at Lingfield, over 1m 2f. Three runs, since a return in May and has dropped off a little , with a fifth at Epsom (1m 3f, good) last time out. Plenty of interest, despite the dip in form, but could warrant place backing here.
