(2) (2:37pm Chepstow) WRITE IT DOWN was 6/1, now 4/1
Latest of two career wins, came at Perth (2m 4f, good to soft) back in August and had since gone close, when second at Taunton (2m 5f, good) in November. Form has dropped off in recent runs, which is a concern, but comes in some 12lbs lower than that second placed finish. Needs to improve off those last couple of runs, but can go close, if finding older form.

(3) (12:30pm Chepstow) KARAKORAM was 8/1 now 11/2
One win in thirty-one starts isn’t the most encouraging of records and has struggled in recent runs at Hereford. The drop in trip to 2m, should help hugely, while cheek-pieces are refitted. A third at Newton Abbot (2m, good) back in September offers hopes of a revival, especially as that was a Class 3 contest and he drops to Class 5 for this race. Each-way backing looks worthwhile, despite the record on paper.

Seven race maiden, but showed plenty of good things, when a 33/1 second in latest at Down Royal (2m 3f, yielding), finishing 13 lengths adrift of the winner, No Thanks. The handicapper has been rather kind, so he races off the same mark as that latest run and newly fitted cheekpieces are hoped to have a positive effect. Tough contest but he should keep favourite Balkos, honest at least.

Five race maiden, with a 250/1 third at Kelso (2m, good) in October, the standout performance. Has reverted back to relatively forgettable runs since. Switches to fences here and is 3lbs out of the handicap. Plenty of market interest, with place claims, looking the most likely.
