(1) (4:50pm Hamilton) PEGGY SIOUX was 11/2 now 11/4

Oasis Dream filly, out of La Napoule and closely related to winners Aunt Agatha and Streaker. Dam was a previous winner, over 6f and a sister to Group 1 winner, La Cucaracha, along with Le Toreador. Plenty to like on paper and has been backed in as the main contender to Edward Cornelius. Strong claims for Kevin Ryan’s debutant here.

(2) (7:20pm Hamilton) DENSE STAR was 9/1, now 4/1

Solid performer, who eventually picked up a maiden win at the seventh attempt, when taking the spoils at Navan (5f, yielding), a year ago. Has unsurprisingly found it tougher going in high level competition, but did place third at Chelmsford (6f, a/w) amongst listed company back in April. Struggled with a poor draw at Royal Ascot, last time out, but can bounce back this afternoon, now down in class. Strong claims and well backed on the market.

(3) (4:35pm Lingfield) TAWTHEEF was 7/1 now 9/2

An eleven race maiden, who has one placed finish to their name so far, when third at Lingfield three months ago (1m, a/w), 0.75 lengths adrift of the winner, Well Prepared. Has since placed fifth and seventh, but a return to polytrack is expected to reinvigorate today. Back to around the same mark, as that third placed finish and has seen them backed into near favourite status. Each-way claims, with Sovereign Moon the main concern.

(4) (1:50pm Uttoxeter) KENDELU was 18/1 now 12/1

Last of three victories, came back in November of last year, when winning over C&D on good to soft conditions. He placed third at Taunton (2m 7f, soft) back in March, but has struggled since, with an eighth and tenth placed finishes. Extension back to 2m 7f shouldn’t be an issue, but needs to find some that old form today. Market confidence suggests that is possible today. Each-way backing, once again looks ideal

(5) (4:00pm Lingfield) JEREMIAH JOHNSON was 66/1, now 20/1

Four career runs so far and no better than ninth in that time, including when last but one at Windsor (1m, good to firm) in June, finishing 16.75 lengths adrift of the winner. New trip and new headgear are hoped to show some improvements here, which suggests the place backing had on the boards, but little else to suggest he will be involved at the business end.
