Thursday’s Tote Jackpot comes from Southwell, featuring four hurdle races and a couple of chases, with all at Class 4 level. Reasonable sized fields give punters a fighting chance for a share of the prize today, with no more than thirteen runners taking part, across the six legs. Check out the GG selections for all six races below, along with the likely challengers expected to feature.

The first race race is a 1m 7f chase featuring eleven runners. Original choice Snowy Oscar is a non-runner, so the alternative choice is Mac Cennetig, who is the strong favourite for the race. A maiden chase win at Market Rasen in July, has been followed up with a decent performance at Sedgefield. Enjoys the ground and won’t mind a spot of rain either.
The most likely challenge looks to come from Battleofthesomme who switches from hurdles and makes debut for a new yard. Seven pound weight advantage over the favourite may just give them the edge they need.
Next up, is a 2m 7f Novices Chase, with the GG pick of the nine runners being OR leader Stop The World, who moves on to fences having placed in the last four outings over hurdles, including a second at Cartmel over three miles in a Class 2 contest.
The main threat is favourite Notachance, who won last time out at Newbury over hurdles, while the remainder will be fighting for the lesser places.
The midway point of the days Jackpot, brings a Maiden Hurdle over 2m 4f, with Garry Clermont the GG pick. A bumper win in his only career start, over two miles at Aintree back in May, showed plenty of battling qualities as he was headed in the last furlong, only to fight back and win by half a length. He has a strong chance of making it two in a row here.
The main competition comes from fellow bumper winner Winningseverything, although the extra half mile may come into play, while Rintulla must also be respected.

Race four of the Jackpot is a 2m 7f Hurdle, with outsiderFrom The Heart being the GG choice among the thirteen contenders. After some disappointing runs, a tongue tie seemed to help when finishing fourth at Kempton last time out and it’s hoped that this will continue to aide, along with an extended trip. Has potential and can fulfill some of that today.
Lord Sparky will be a threat as they return to action looking to continue where they left off, when winning at Huntingdon back in April, while favourite For Jim and Fawsley Spirit are also big dangers.
The penultimate race is a 2m 4f Hurdle with twelve contenders. Outofthisworld is the GG selection for this and drops back to a more familiar level, having ended last season finishing ninth of fifteen in a Class 1 Mares hurdle at Newbury, Previous to that, she had won at Market Rasen over two and a half miles on good ground, so should have a great chance here.
Oscar Rose looks the one to beat and is favourite too, while The Kings Baby and Sid Hoodie both have genuine chances of striking the victory.
GG Selection – OUTOFTHISWORLD.
The final leg of Thursday’s Jackpot is a 1m 7f Hurdle, with just nine runners involved. The GG choice is Miss Amelia who will need some improvement to overturn the favourite. Ran well at Doncaster, finishing second when three pounds heavier. Has not been seen since a broken blood vessel in June, but returns fully fit and raring to go.
The favourite Percy Thrower looks to be a tough ask for any of the others to beat. Returned off a wind op with a decisive win at Uttoxeter, with the faster ground the only minor issue.
