Race 1 (1:45pm) MODERN GAME
Impressed on second career start, when taking the spoils at Newmarket (7f, good to firm), when beating Saga by 2 lengths.in July. Was second in latest at Leicester, when racing under penalty, just 0.75 lengths behind Cresta and 6 lengths clear of the rest. Very useful runner for Charlie Appleby and comes into handicap debut off a useful mark.
Race 2 (2:20pm) CAPITAL THEORY
Useful runner, who has placed third at Goodwood and fourth most recently at York (7f, good to firm) in the Convivial. Room for improvement off those two runs and still looked a little inexperienced at times last time out. Entered for the Royal Lodge and is likely to favour the rise to the mile trip.
Race 3 (2:50pm) FIRST DANCE
Has been in excellent form of late, sealing a Newmarket double, with a win twenty-four days ago (1m, good to firm), beating Don’t Tell Claire by a nose. Was unlucky in the latest, when half a length short of Millie Miglia on the hattrick attempt, also at Newmarket (1m 2f, good to firm). The return to a mile trip should suit better here and with another strong run.
Race 4 [3:25pm) HIGHFIELD PRINCESS
An impressive seven wins and seven places in seventeen career starts, with the most recent victory, coming in the Listed – Queen Charlotte Stakes at Chelmsford (7f, a/w), when beating Double Or Bubble by a neck. Has since placed third in the Group 3 – Oak Tree Stakes at Goodwood and second in the Group 2 – City Of York Stakes, seventeen days ago. Stong claims here and should at very least feature in the main group.
Race 5 (4:00pm) TARBOOSH
This 8-yo is still going strong, picking up the last victory in this very race, twelve months ago, when beating Urban Beat by 1.25 lengths. Form has been a little off, compared to last year, which included a ninth of eleven in the Beverley Bullet, however he goes well at Doncaster and should be amongst the challengers, although it may take something more to stop Arecibo.
Race 6 (4:30pm) FAISAL
Three from three so far, for team Gosden, including the latest at the end of May, when half a length clear of High Commissioner at Windsor (1m 2f, good). Rise of 3lbs looks immaterial in all truth and looked to have more to come, when taking that last victory. Elevation to this Class 2 level race, should be take on comfortably.
