Race 1 (1:10pm) CALL ME GINGER
Relatively consistent sort, who has been in decent form recently and added a second career win, when taking the spoils Hamilton (6f, good), when beating Jordan Electrics by a neck. A solid pace is important to Jim Goldies runner and that looks likely, looking at this field. Strong claims overall in this contest and the main threat to Embour, the favourite.
Race 2 (1:40pm) DORA PENNY
Comes into this contest, looking for a hattrick, having sealed the double last time out at Wolverhampton (6f, a/w). However, the performance prior is the real standout, when taking the spoils at Newmarket (6f, good) in July, at a Class 2 contest, when 1.75 lengths clear of Tadita Twitch. This is a tough ask, at this level, but looks to have more to come and is capable of featuring here.
Race 3 (2:10pm) JAZZ CLUB
Plenty of improvement had in three runs, culminating in victory at Windsor three weeks ago, when easing to a 3.5 length victory, ahead of Notions. Looks to have plenty more in the tank and blinkers are added for this contest. Roger Varian has a good record in this contest and can go close once more.
Race 4 (2:40pm) INSPIRAL
Big favourite to take the spoils for Team Gosden. She has a perfect record in two starts so far, winning a Class 4 at Newmarket (7f, good to firm) in June, before striking once again at Sandown (7f, good to firm) in the Listed – Star Stakes in July. There is little else to say about this talented filly, who is already leading the betting in the 1,000 guineas at this early stage. The one to beat here, without a doubt.
Race 5 (3:15pm) FREE WIND
Two wins in four starts so far, for another of Team Gosden’s runners, who followed the victory at Goodwood (1m 1f, good), with a win here at Doncaster (1m 2f, good to soft). Has since elevated to 1m 4f last time out, placing second to Golden Pass in the Aphrodite Stakes and looks as though the further trip will suit. Strong claims off the back of that Newmarket run.
Race 6 (3:45pm) MOTAWAAJED
Three victories in five career runs, including a double in the last two. He followed the victory at Lingfield (7f, good to firm), with a win over C&D last time out in a Class 2 contest, beating Dance Fever by half a length. 2lbs rise isn’t likely to do much to cease his progress and looks set to battle Modern News for the win.
