Race 1 (1:00pm) AZURE BLUE

Two strong performances for Michael Dods charge, placing third on debut at Redcar (5f, good) back in July, before finishing second at Carlisle (5f, good), half a length behind the Haggas’ trained Perfect News, last month. She was arguably unlucky, having met a little trouble during that contest and could have probably won, if stayed clear. Step up in trip should be of no issue, whilst she is given weight by her main contenders. Strong claims here and could go all the way.

Race 2 (1:35pm) GOLDEN DUKE

Maiden win came at the fourth time of asking, when taking the spoils at Kempton (6f, a/w) last month, beating Ailish T by 1.5 lengths. Stepped up to Class 4 level in the latest, but struggled to make any major impact, placing fourth at Beverley (5f, good to firm). The further rise in level is a minor concern, but having performed so well in nurseries of late, they have decent chances in this.

Race 3 (2:10pm) PEGGY SIOUX

Excellent performance on debut, when taking the spoils at Hamilton (5f, good), easing to a 3.25 length win, ahead of race rival Edward Cornelius. Has strong claims in this tougher contest, but further improvement is expected of this Keith Dalgleish runner here and wouldn’t be too much of a surprise to see them take the win.

Race 4 (2:45pm) DANDALLA

All three victories came in the first three starts, but its been fourteen months and seven races since then, with the latest of fifth at Beverley (5f, good to firm), in the Beverley Bullet race last time out, a pretty accurate depiction of her form since, finishing five lengths adrift. More to come, but needs to pick up some of that old form, with a good chance of that here.

Race 5 (3:20pm) CALL ME GINGER

Comes in looking for a treble, having followed the win at Hamilton, with victory at Doncaster (6f, good to firm) a week ago, beating Lord P by 2 lengths. He comes in 2lbs well in, with the only concern being the difficult draw. Strong claims and looks to be the one to beat, as he head for a hattrick.

Race 6 (3:55pm) PRINCE IMPERIAL

Picked up a second win in three starts, when taking the spoils at Pontefract (2m 1f, good) last month in his penultimate start, beating Tashkhan by 2.5 lengths. It was tougher going last time out however, when sixth of fourteen in a Class 2 at York (2m good) a fortnight later, finishing 3.5 lengths adrift. This isn’t as tough an assignment and should improve in this contest.
