Race 1 (1:13pm) MANACCAN

Exceed And Excel colt, out of Shyrl and costing 100,000gns. Half-brother to four winners, including Raucous, Divine Spirit and Green Fortune. Dam grouped placed too. Looks to have plenty of positives on pedigree and can get off to a strong start, with Cam Hardie onboard

Race 2 (1:45pm) CABALLERO

Two wins in nineteen, with the last of those back in 2018. However, Keith Dalgliesh’s runner has been in strong from of late, placing twice and finishing third at Ayr (7f, good and good to firm). Minor concern with the step up to a mile, having finished no better than fourth at this distance, but the form may just see an improvement here.

Race 3 (2:18pm) THREE CASTLES

Three career wins, with the last of those back in August at Musselburgh (1m 7f, soft). Form has dipped a little since then, but a recent fourth last time out, also at Musselburgh (1m 4f, soft) last week, when 3 lengths back, offers positive signs. Won’t mind drier conditions and should be in the hunt for the spoils

Race 4 (2:50pm) DR T J ECKLEBURG

Seven race maiden, with the one place finish coming at Ripon (1m 1f, good to soft) in his penultimate start last month, when 0.75 lengths behind Casilli. Struggled to a fifth at Haydock in latest, although heavy conditions offer a genuine excuse, so expect a better run this afternoon. Strong favourite in the markets.

Race 5 (3:23pm) GARDEN OASIS

Winner a few races ago at Pontefract (1m, good) back in September, when 2.75 lengths clear of Ulshaw Bridge, before stepping up two levels at Ascot and unsurprisingly finding it a little too hot to handle. However subsequent seconds at Ripon (1m, Class3) and Carlisle (7f, Class 4) will have galvanised the positive form. 5lbs higher than that last win, but looks the one to beat here.

Race 6 (3:55pm) TANASOQ

Six wins in forty starts, but has been somewhat off the boil until recently, when third at Doncaster (5f, good to firm) and then third again, this time at Hamilton (6f, good to firm). Struggled in latest on soft ground, sixteen days ago, but conditions should be more favourable. Solid mark and cheekpieces retained. Every chance.
