Race 1 (2:00pm) CAPPANANTY CON
Picked up a victory over C&D (good) at the beginning of July, before struggling to find room twelve days later at the same venue, when ninth (of twelve). However he bounced back well, when taking the spoils on the all-weather at Lingfield (6f) last month, before returning to his favoured [C&D], when second on soft ground, 2 lengths behind Handytalk. In good form and offers a good opportunity for Keelan Baker, who rides for the first time.
Alternative Selection: OUR MAN IN HAVANA
Race 2 (2:30pm) ACQUISITOR
Made a decent debut over C&D (good to firm) twenty days ago, finishing 3 lengths behind Miss Fernanda, with a hampered start arguably costing Franny Norton the victory. Looks a good prospect, although may suit an extended trip looking ahead. Silvestre De Sousa takes over the reins this time around, with this useful prospect expected to improve on that run. Every chance.
Alternative Selection: KALKAGANA
Race 3 (3:00pm) CAPLA SPIRIT
Winner at Southwell back in March (4f), but struggled for form on return to action after a three month break, finishing 6737 before finding form once more, taking the spoils at Wolverhampton (5f) when dropping down a level. Returns to regular Class 5 action for this one and assuming that recent run is repeated, Tyler Heard who claims 7lbs can go close.
Alternative Selection: ZULU ZANDER
Race 4 (3:30pm) ELEGANT LOVE
Just two wins in twenty-five starts, but has nine places under her belt too. Latest victory came at Haydock (1m 2f, good to firm) last month, when beating Brown Honey by a neck. That was followed by a second at Newbury (1m 1f, soft), thirteen days later as Sweet Reward was just too strong for her. Elisha Whittington returns to try and make it two wins in two rides onboard and claims 5lbs once again. In good condition and form, has solid hopes.
Race 5 (4:00pm) TRONADA
Has looked strong since returning from a three month break, winning a Class 6 at Lingfield in June (1m 4f, a/w) and then sealing a double a Chepstow (1m 4f, soft) when elevating to Class 5 level. She was pushed on again, when fourth (of six) at Doncaster (1m 3f, good to firm) last time out, but the step up was just too much, finishing a creditable 3.75 lengths off the victor. Has another go here and this looks a little easier than the previous race, so can fair better.
Race 6 (4:35pm) SULOCHANA
Struggled in earlier starts over a mile, finishing eighth both times in June, before finishing in the same position when taking on a 1m 4f at Chepstow (soft) in July. The drop down in class and extended trip here, last time out, over 1m 6f seemed to be what the doctor ordered, when an improved fourth and returns for this 1m 5f with arguably a bit more to come. Cieren Fallon rides for the first time and looks to have solid claims in this competitive handicap.
