Race 1 (1:45pm) BOLTON ABBEY
Debuted fourth of five at Nottingham, before improving to a second of seven at Ripon (6f, soft) twelve days ago, 3.25 lengths behind Ever Given. Drop back in trip and quicker ground may not be ideal, but he looks a strong candidate based on recent form
Race 2 (2:20pm) TYPHOON TEN
Last of his three victories came at Windsor (6f, good to firm) last August, but is now on a run of twelve races without tasting glory. Recent form suggest an upturn in form, having placed third at Newbury and the Windsor (both 6f soft and good to soft) in the space of four days, a fortnight ago. Down in the weights and in a lesser contest, offers a great chance.
Race 3 (2:50pm) ROSA GOLD
All three career wins, came in succession last Summer, with the last of those at Chepstow (1m 2f, good to firm) back in July. Four runs since, have seen this filly hovering just outside the places, with the fourth last time out at Nottingham (1m good to firm), seeing them some 4.5 lengths adrift of Lights On. Drop in class should help, as does Mark Crehan’s 5lbs claim, but may find this trip on the shorter side.
Race 4 (3:25pm) GLOBAL STYLE
Twenty-nine race maiden, who has placed in nine of those races, including his penultimate run at Kempton (7f, a/w) back in March, when half a length behind Canimar, even after being hampered. Difficult to recommend the win, but a perfect candidate for a placepot selection
Race 5 (3:55pm) DAWN VIEW
Maiden victory at the fifteenth attempt, taking the spoils here at Brighton (good to firm), over 7f and a length clear of Bombastic. Comes in 2lbs higher, but has plenty of experience over this longer trip. Marco Ghiani’s 3lbs claim also adds to his chances of success.
Race 6 (4:30pm) IVAQUESTION
Only victory came back in September, when a surprise 80/1 winner at Kempton (1m 2f, a/w), when beating odds on favourite, Island Nation by a shorthead. No win in ten runs since, but a second last time out over C&D, offers plenty of encouragement this afternoon.
