Race 1 (1:45pm) LADY LADE

Stayed on well, when fifth of ten on debut over C&D (5f, good to soft). Was slow to start and had to be pushed along earlier than ideal, but there were plenty of positives otherwise. Will be sharper for last months run and should enter the equation today.

Race 2 (2:20pm) MADAME BONBON

Debut fifth last month at Haydock (6f, soft), before improving to second, over the same C&D (good to firm) a fortnight ago, when 0.75 length adrift of Sadmah, having rallied in the closing stages. More to come and one of the standard setters for this contest.

Race 3 (2:55pm) JACKHAMMER

Just five wins in thirty-three races so far, with the last of those coming here in this race, some 2 year ago. Had one run in 22 months since, before returning to action this season and placing second at Ayr (1m good to firm) back in April and then second again at Hamilton (1m, good to firm) last month, when 1.5 lengths adrift. Has a good record at this venue.

Race 4 (3:30pm) CHICHESTER

Grabbed a maiden victory at the sixth attempt, when taking the spoils at Newcastle (1m, a/w), easing to a 4.5 length win. Has continued the good form, with solid runs since and placed second last time out at Haydock (1m 2f, good to firm), when a length behind Pivoine. Cheekpieces added today and looks to be open to further progression.

Race 5 (4:05pm) TRICORN

Comes in looking for a five-timer, having sealed a fourth successive win last time out at Thrsk (1m 4f, good to firm), when justifying odds on status and beating Arrow Of Gold by 2 lengths, with more in-hand if needed. Tougher contest today, but has defied the current mark previously and looks to have a strong claim here.

Race 6 (4:40pm) CLOUDY DAWN

Three wins in three starts so far, including last time out at Yarmouth (6f, good to firm)on handicap debut, some three weeks ago, beating Smeaton’s Light by a length. Higher mark, plus a tougher field will be a test, but with Paul Hanagan, she should go close at least
