Race 1 (1:40pm) CEDAR’S STARS
Two places in four starts, including last time out at Nottingham (1m 2f, good to firm) in a fillies handicap, 2.25 lengths behind the winner. More to come, but may need a strong pace for this shorter trip. Definitely a contender this afternoon
Race 2 (2:15pm) MOUNT MOGAN
Looked promising when winning on his third start at Wolverhampton, back in February of last year, but as failed to build upon that since, with form regressing somewhat since. However, a third at Goodwood (6f, good) last time out, saw them finish just a length behind The Lamplighter. Drops in class today and remains off the same mark. Bit of interest n the boards makes them a strong proposition
Race 3 [2:50pm) ENCOUNTERED
Showed promise, when third of six on debut at Haydock (6f, soft), 2.5 lengths behind Caio Shark. Sire was a good surface winner in the Dewhurst and the 2000 Guineas, while dam has won over faster conditions. So should find today’s good to firm little issue.
Race 4 (3:25pm) LUCID DREAMER
Went two for two at the end of last Summer, winning a three runner race at Newbury (7f, good) in September, some 2.75 lengths clear of Teodolina. Returned to action in April, also at Newbury, but faded away in a Group 3 contest, after disputing the early lead. Upped to a mile today, so has a little to prove, but capable of returning to earlier form.
Race 5 (4:00pm) LADY ROCKSTAR
Debut fourth at Newcastle (7f, a/w), back in November, finishing just 1.75 lengths adrift of the winner that day and she return to action in April, placing second at Haydock (1m, good to firm), 1.25 lengths behind Anghaam. Should stay the trip and relatively unexposed still. Strong chances.
Race 6 (4:35pm) FLEURMAN
Picked up a victory at the fourth time of asking at Salisbury (1m 4f, good to soft), four weeks ago, when a length clear of Bobby Kennedy on handicap debut. Rise in class and weights make this a tougher contest, but the extended trip should be favourable. Should go close at least this afternoon.
