Race 1 (1:15pm) OSLO
Reasonable flat runner, who makes hurdles debut in this contest. The last of his two wins came for Michael Appleby at Chelmsford, back in December 2020 and was raced up to 1m 4f. The last run saw them sixth of nine in a Class 3 contest at Newcastle (1m 2f, a/w) last month, with a bit more needed that day. Switched to Fergal O’Brien’s yard now for his jumps switch and if able to take to hurdles, can go very close here.
Race 2 (1:45pm) ARCADE ATTRACTION
Just a single victory in the first fifteen starts, but has found form, with two wins and a place in the last five races, winning at Ffos Las (2m 3f, good to soft) in April and at Ludlow (2m 5f, good to soft) in May, with a 2 length victory. Placed third of nine on seasonal return at Bangor and should be stripped fitter for that run. Yard in good form and looks capable of getting involved at the sharp end here.
Race 3 (2:20pm) GET BACK GET BACK
Five wins and eleven places in twenty-six starts and continued the good form from last season in recent runs. A fifth of nine at Uttoxeter (2m 3f, good) last month, was clearly needed to get rid of some rustiness and that proved to be the case when second at Exeter (2m 2f, good to firm), when 3 lengths behind Guernesey. Harry Fry’s runner drops back to hurdles, after those chase runs and looks to be in fine condition to challenge for the spoils, with Lorcan Murtagh claiming 3lbs also aiding those hopes.
Race 4 (2:55pm) MR MAFIA
He maybe 12-yo now, but he has shown plenty of form in recent starts, including a victory at Market Rasen (2m 7f, good) back in August, when 3.5 lengths clear of Wishfull Dreaming in a seven runner contest. He also won last time out, albeit in a two runner contest, at Fontwell (3m 1f, good to soft). He comes in with a rise of 3lbs for this contest, but stays all day and can surely take a victory once more.
Race 5 (3:30pm) STRIKE THE FLINT
Won on second career start, back at Plumpton (2m 1f, good) in April 2019 and it wasn’t until thirteen races later, that Suzy Smith’s runner visited the winners enclosure, when striking last time out again at Plumpton (2m 4f, good), twenty-five days ago, beating Sixties Secret by 5 lengths. This isn’t the deepest of fields and she looks set to challenge once again for the victory.
Race 6 (4:05pm) O’FAOLAINS LAD
Solid performances in first three starts, before taking a maiden victory last time out at Newton Abbot (3m 1f, good) in a conditional chase, beating Achy Breaky Heart by 1.25 lengths, who has since taken a win themselves. Expected to improve, even with a 5lbs rise and looks to be battle Jony Max for the spoils.
