All races are offering three places, except Race 6 (2 places)
.
Race 1 (1:25pm) ZAMBEZI MAGIC
Grabbed just one place in four starts over 7f – 1m, before extending to 1m 2f at Doncaster and picking up a useful second placed finish, just 2 lengths behind Maqtal. Continues at this distance today and with little exposure, can improve further this afternoon.
Alternative Selection: SILVER MISSION
Race 2 (1:55pm) NORMANDY BARRIERE
Returned to action at Redcar in June, picking up a second (5f, good). Latest run saw a creditable fourth, when stepping up a level at York seventeen days ago. Finished 1.5 lengths off the now withdrawn Queen Of Kalahari in that race. Oisin Murphy is booked to ride and has a superb record of 4 wins in six for Nigel Tinkler. Will need to pull out the stop though, for a horse that has not won in three years.
Race 3 (2:25pm) CAMACHESS
In form filly, who has really taken to blinkers, with two wins in four starts with them. Won at Wolverhampton (5f) back at the start of July, before grabbing another at Yarmouth (6f, good to firm) sixteen days ago. Comes into this race with a decent mark still, so can go close once again.
Race 4 (2:55pm) LEGEND OF DUBAI
A cool 500,000 guineas worth of son by Dubawi, out of Group 1 winner Speedy Boarding. Made a solid debut at Newbury, when third over 7f (good), 3 lengths off the victor, Guru. More to come from that opening race and this Group 1 entered colt, should bound on in this relatively weak contest.
Race 5 (3:25pm) BRAVE BLOSSOM
Another debutant today, this Richard Fahey trained runner was purchased for a more modest 40,000 Euros, by Mayson. Closely related to Group 3 winners Pincheck and Valeria Mesalina. Pedigree offers plenty of optimism.
Alternative Selection: SHABABIYA
Race 6 (3:55pm) ALABLAQ
Two second places (both Doncaster) in two career starts, losing to subsequent Pat Eddery Stakes winner in Chindit, before Albasheer stormed to a 6.5 length win in the latest, seventeen days ago. Nursery debut today and looks capable of going all the way.
